The National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) has set aside a $1.6 million Care and Share Fund – fully contributed by the Singapore Labour Foundation (SLF) – this year to help lower-income NTUC union members cope with the rising cost of living. In addition, NTUC will also help the Singapore Government, SBS Transit and SMRT Corporation to disburse $900,000 worth of Public Transport Vouchers.

Out of this $1.6 million, $1,450,000 will be in the form of $50 direct payment to Singapore Power Services to offset lower-income union members’ utility bills under the NTUC Care and Share (Utilities) Offset Package.

The remaining $150,000 has been set aside to provide $30 NTUC Care and Share (Public Transport) Vouchers for needy union members who do not have at least one family member who is a Singaporean.

For needy union members with at least one Singaporean in the household, NTUC will help the government and the public transport operators disburse an additional $900,000 worth of Public Transport Vouchers. Each Voucher is worth $30.
