Dual-thlon 2006

Are you ready to go the distance?

The Young NTUC Dual-thlon is a sporting event that will take you on a swim across the Marina Bay and a run past major landmarks of Singapore's waterfront area and Central Business District.

Each participant will swim a distance of 200m from One Fullerton to DXO. This is followed by a picturesque 3km run that will take you past the Esplanade Bridge, Raffles Quay Road, Shenton Way, the Singapore Conference Hall and back towards the Esplanade.

This event is open to all between the ages of 21 to 40 years old.

GENERAL NOTES

Limited spaces are available for the event and no entries will be processed after 21 April 2006.

All entry forms must be duly completed, as incomplete entry forms will not be accepted. The Organisers will also not be responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete entry details.

On-the-spot entries during the event date will not be entertained.

Entries are to be made on Official Registration forms (photocopies are acceptable) available at the various locations. Soft copies of the entry form can be downloaded at www.youngntuc.org.sg.

Soft copies of the entry forms submitted via email are not accepted.

In the event that the participation rate reaches it's maximum capacity before the stated closing date, the Organiser reserves the right to close registration, all participants are encouraged to register early.

Confirmation of participation will be sent via email to their registered email addresses, together with the event information of individual participants after the Closing Date. Any discrepancies from the intended registration should be reported before 21 April 2006.

Completion of this entry form reflects that Participants' agreement to abide by the relevant rules and regulations of the Organisers. These rules apply at the material time, to all and/or any ruling of the Organisers.

Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organisers to ensure the participants' safety, participants participate in this event at their own risk and the Organisers shall not be liable for any bodily injury, loss and/or damage to property, whether personal or otherwise, and howsoever arising.

Participants are responsible to verify their own good physical health condition for the event.

Once the registration form has been duly received and/or processed, there will be no fee refunds for those participants who, for whatsoever reason, eventually do not take part.

The Organisers reserve the right to use any images (inclusive but not limited to photographs, motion picture, recordings or any other record) of this event and its participants for any legitimate purpose, including commercial advertising.

The Organisers reserve the right to limit and refuse entries at any time.

Only the official number tags issued by the Organising Committee may be used.

The Organisers reserve the right to amend the rules and regulations without prior notification.

Please note that not every participant will be entitled to an event t-shirt and/or goodie bags, due to limited quantities.

REPORTING LOCATION
Open area behind DXO, 8 Raffles Avenue, #01-13F Esplanade Mall.

TRANSPORT
Participants who drive are advised to park their vehicles within Esplanade or Marina Square.

REPORTING / COMMENCEMENT
On-site reporting and body-marking booths will start at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the race.

All participants shall be ready 15 minutes prior to the start of the Swim.

A grace period of 15 minutes after the commencement of the event will be given for latecomers. Anyone who reports later than this grace period will not be allowed to participate in the event. Latecomers should be aware that their timings would have commenced when the event begins.

SWIM
Start point from One Fullerton to DXO (estimated 200m swim)

Swimsuits must be worn.

It is mandatory that all swimmers must wear the swim caps provided by the Organisers.

Swim goggles may be worn.

Swimming aids inclusive but not limited to fins, paddles, pool buoys, snorkels are not allowed.

Wet suits & support crews are not allowed.

Any assistance, other than medical aid, received during the swim will result in immediate disqualification.

No one other than the participants and officials are permitted in the swimming area.

Swimmers encountering any forms of difficulty must signal to the escorting boats/canoes for assistance.

The swimming course will be closed 30 minutes after the start of the event.

RUN
Start point from Esplanade Bridge and back (estimated 3km run)

All runners must wear their race numbers at all times.

Support vehicles or pacers are not allowed.

Runners must run on the designated path for the entire route. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

Running with bare torso is not allowed.

BAD WEATHER
In the event of bad weather, the Organisers reserve the right to delay the commencement of the event.

Should the bad weather persist after the delay, the Organisers reserve the right to cancel the event without any refund.

MEDICAL ADVISORY
Participants attest that they are physically fit and that they have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional.

The Organisers discourage any consumption of alcohol, stimulants and/or any types of drugs by the participants within 24 hours prior to their event.

Participants are to ensure that they are well rested and well hydrated on day of event.

Participants are advised to dress in light and appropriate attire.

Should any participants feel unwell anytime during the course of event, he/she should stop and seek immediate medical attention at designated medical posts.

The Organisers reserve the right to remove any participant deemed physically incapable by the medical team to continue the event.
