
The MDIS-NTUC Sponsorship programme aims to provide suitable candidates with the opportunity to undertake programme by MDIS and develop skills for life.
Tenure of Sponsorship
The sponsorship is tenable for the minimum period required to complete the full course of study, as stipulated by the programme. Applications awarded the sponsorship will join the next available intake.
Nature of MDIS-NTUC Sponsorship
For the intake commencing July 2006, there are 4 Professional Certificate or Diploma or Advanced Diploma Sponsorships available.

Who is eligible?
The Sponsorship is open to all general branch and ordinary branch union members. In addition, applicants should be Singapore citizens or permanent residents, with impressive academic and co-curricular activities record, strong language skills and be able to demonstrate leadership qualities.
Value of Sponsorship
Each scholarship will provide for the following: *
- Course fee (excluding supplementary exam fee and re-module fee)
- Waiver of application fee

Terms & Conditions
- Applicants must be a Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.
- Total household income of the candidate must not exceed $2,000 per month.
- The sponsorship is open to all NTUC affiliated unions' members who have at least 6 months' of paid up union membership as at 31 Dec 2005 .
- Union members must maintain their union membership status throughout the duration of the course or the sponsorship will be immediately revoked.
- Applicants must meet MDIS entry requirements to a course of study leading to any of the following Certificates/ Diplomas and such other courses of study as may be approved by MDIS.
- Candidates must not possess a first degree.
- Sponsorship recipients are not required to serve a bond or contract with the MDIS or NTUC.
- The recipient is required to sit for all examinations, complete the course within the prescribed time and confirm to regulations, instructions and discipline in force for the respective programme.
- The recipients shall not change the course of study.
- The recipient shall not be an existing student and/or take up any additional course of study without the prior written permission of MDIS.
- The scholar shall not hold concurrently any other scholarships or other awards without the prior approval of MDIS.
- The selection committee reserves the right to terminate the scholarship of the scholar, based on unsatisfactory conduct of the scholar, or for any other valid reasons.
- Each scholarship is tenable for the minimum period required by the scholar to complete his or her course of study.
- MDIS and NTUC reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions for awarding the sponsorship at their sole discretion.
- The decision of MDIS and NTUC on the selection of sponsorship applicants will be final and no appeal will be entertained. All successful applicants will receive the acceptance letter by end April 2006.
A separate letter with the detailed terms and conditions (including the above terms and conditions) and others relating to the course of study itself will be given to the successful applicant. Please ensure that you have this letter and understand the binding terms and conditions.
