1 We refer to the media reports concerning a lawsuit between the Singapore Airlines Staff Union (SIASU) and a member from the SIA Engineering Company branch and would like to give our comments.

2 SIASU is deeply committed to serving our members and we want to spend our time and resources on improving their lives through the various policies and programmes that we have developed.  Hence, like NTUC Secretary-General Lim Swee Say, we too are disappointed at the turn of events, which would only serve to divert our attention from the more important tasks that we have at hand.

3 SIASU has always remained open to the idea of finding an amicable way of resolving this matter to everyone’s best interest.  The SIASU Executive Committee has deliberated and sees mediation through the Singapore Mediation Centre as another way forward.  We hope that the other party would agree to this suggestion.
