Keppel FELS Employees Union (KFEU) formerly known as Far East Levingston Labour Organisation (FELLO) was formed and officially registered with the Registry of Trades Union on 17 June 1983. A House Union representing 4500 members working in Keppel FELS Ltd, a world leader company specialized in building of oil rigs.
Proud to have a 100% unionization rate since 1985, KFEU takes care of its members in a well-rounded aspects such as areas of work, leisure, finances, welfare and upgrading. Working in a heavy and rugged industry and environment, KFEU insisted on having a work-life balance for its members. In 2013, KFEU widen the scope to represent the PME’s with full representation.
As an affiliate of National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), KFEU works closely with the Management, NTUC and other affiliated Unions to move the Labour Movement in Singapore forward. A member of the NTUC Marine & Engineering Cluster, the Cluster had formed a work group - the Marine Tripartite Committee and come up with a Career Progression Pathway (Trades Specialist Track) for the Industry to recognize employees experiences and skill certifications issued by approved training institutions recognized by the employers.
Internationally, KFEU is affiliated to IndustriALL Global Union, active especially in the Shipbuilding and Shipbreaking industries.
