History of SATSWU

Introduction

SATSWU was formed and registered as a House Union on 23 Jun 1984. The birth of SATSWU was indeed a difficult one, as we had to overcome many obstacles before it was accorded recognition. The setting up of SATSWU involved a change of union representation and a change of union leadership.

As we move into an era of high tech, we have to expect rapid changes. The emphasis on improving productivity and cost cutting measures to certain extent has affected our life styles and our working environment. The success of a union will depend on its quality of the leadership. A leadership able to respond quickly to meet the demands of an ever changing world. What SATSWU has achieved during the last decade is a testimony of successful efforts put in by the Council Members and their union representatives.
