NTUC Baby’s Day Out 2015 – My First National Day Party

Touted as Singapore’s largest Jubilee National Day celebration for babies, more than 5,000 participants, including parents and some 1,500 babies and toddlers, participated in this year’s National Trades Union Congress’ (NTUC) Baby’s Day Out – My First National Day Party held today, 8 August 2015, at The Promontory @ Marina Bay. Among them were some 500 jubilee babies who celebrated their National Day for the first time.

In its sixth year running, the annual Baby’s Day Out is organised by NTUC U Family to show our appreciation to parents for raising their families and to celebrate our children as the future of Singapore. The event also served as a networking platform for parents to come together to build friendship with other parents who are going through similar life stages and celebrate their babies’ milestones.

The event was free and open to NTUC members, OCBC Child Development Account (CDA) Holders and families with Jubilee babies. Each family received the SG50 National Day Gift Pack and a Baby’s Day Out Party Pack, which comprised items such as picnic mats, handheld Singapore flags, face tattoos, LED maracas and tambourines.

The event also featured a slew of exciting activities that made the babies’ first National Day party a memorable day for the whole family. Some of the highlights include:

• Kids Dance Medley: A multi-award winning dance crew made up of kids aged 7 to 11 performed a power-packed dance medley for the opening act.
• SG50 Babies Sling Dance: A mass activity where about 2,000 parents slung their babies and swayed to the gentle rocking movement of the dance which is a great way for parents to bond with their babies.
• Mass Baby Orchestra by The Kids Philharmonic Orchestra: An all-kids symphony orchestra of musicians between 7 to 16 years old played classical music and all-time favourites, with the conductor leading an interactive segment for parents and their babies to create music with LED tambourines and maracas.
• NTUC FairPrice Baby Race: Opened to babies and toddlers aged 8 to 12 months (Category A) and 13 to 18 months (Category B). The top three babies received NTUC FairPrice vouchers worth $300, $200 and $100 respectively, as well as race completion certificates for all participants.

Other fringe activities at the event included The Polliwogs Performance, a baby sensory activity corner, live band performance, National Day songs Mass Sing-Along, fireworks and engaging stage games with attractive prizes to be won.
