NTUC Healthcare was established in 1992 in response to workers’ concerns over rising healthcare costs. Its mission is to help moderate the cost of healthcare in Singapore through promoting and providing quality healthcare services at affordable rate. Unity pharmacy continued to ensure that the basket of commonly used products is lowest-priced. NTUC Denticare and NTUC Medicare fees scheduled continued to be lower than the guidelines set by the Singapore Dental Association and the Singapore Medical Council respectively.

Today, NTUC Healthcare Co-operative Ltd is the largest healthcare cooperative in Singapore. It currently operates 36 UNITY pharmacies, 11 dental surgeries and 3 medical clinics island-wide.
