FairPrice Group (FPG) will freeze prices on over 500 daily essentials from 1 June to 31 August 2026 to help Singapore households manage rising costs amid persistent global economic uncertainty and supply chain strains.
The price freeze will extend to all FairPrice outlets.
The expanded price freeze builds on FPG’s earlier move in April to keep prices steady on 100 daily essentials.
The latest initiative announced on 1 June 2026 significantly widens the basket of essentials, covering a broader range of frequently purchased groceries and household staples.
The new price freeze covers a wider selection of essential items, including FairPrice housebrand rice, cooking oil, eggs, fresh and frozen poultry and meat, milk, pantry staples and household detergents.
According to FPG, these items are especially important for lower- and middle-income households. More than nine in 10 CHAS Blue and Orange customers regularly purchase products from the essential categories included in the expanded price freeze.
FPG Group CEO Vipul Chawla said the expansion reflects the need for more sustained support amid ongoing cost pressures.
He said: “Our rapid response in April proved that freezing prices works to protect household budgets. However, dealing with prolonged global uncertainties requires a deeper, more sustained commitment.”
The latest price lock is part of FPG’s ongoing efforts to keep daily necessities affordable and within reach for shoppers across Singapore.
With the rising cost of living remaining a real concern for workers and families, NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng said the current move will help households plan their expenses more confidently.
He said: “By keeping these prices consistent, families can better plan their expenses and worry less.
“No worker and their family should face rising costs alone; we will continue to stand with them through any challenges.”
The latest price freeze adds to a series of support measures that FPG has rolled out over the past year to help Singapore households with rising costs.
These include an earlier move in April 2026 to lock prices on 100 daily essentials and double weekly discounts from three to six per cent for CHAS Blue and Orange cardholders.
FPG also introduced its BestSellers for Less campaign from 19 March to 10 June 2026, offering deals of up to 36 per cent off selected housebrand essentials.
To continue supporting households, FPG also extended its daily discount schemes until the end of 2026 for seniors, Pioneer and Merdeka Generation members, and CHAS Blue and Orange cardholders.
