e2i races to beef up labour market

The NTUC's e2i organised a job fair recently as part of its Step-in Series to encourage young PMEs to join the Service industry and to develop the Singaporean Core. Held at the Scape Youth Park, the fair drew about 50 young PMEs and undergraduates.

An opportunity to open up their doors to a more vibrant pool of young workforce. This is what some employers like Paradise Group find in NTUC’s e2i (Employment and Employability Institute) job fairs.

“We hope that by working with e2i, we can expand our network to a more vibrant, dynamic and younger group of people,” said Paradise Group’s Operations Manager, Mr Elvin See, whose company decided to join in e2i’s Step-in series of job fairs targeted at young job entrants and Professionals, Manager and Executives (PMEs), to offer fresh graduates a good career path for them to grow themselves.

For other employers, these grounds also bring together another important resource – Singaporean job seekers who can help their companies to build up a Singaporean core. e2i also dangles other carrots at these outreach events – information on programmes like the Inclusive Growth Programme (IGP) and other funding programmes, that businesses can tap on.As part of its ‘3P’ approach to help Singaporean workers through Placements, Professional Development and Productivity, e2i has organised two recent events that help to place workers, and raise productivity within Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
