General FAQs

Regardless of job or designation, Union Membership is open to all working people above 16 years of age (except for personnel in MINDEF, SAF, Police, Civil Defence).

The Union represents Ordinary members in wage negotiations and workplace issues. General Branch members do not have such representation rights. However, they enjoy the same social benefits, e.g. NTUC FairPrice rebates, NTUC Link Card, chalets, access to Golf privileges and NTUC Club facilities.

Yes, Executives and Managers can also join as union members to enjoy the Live, Grow and Play benefits offered by CIEU and NTUC.

Executives and Managers can also approach CIEU for workplace advice regarding their employment contract. In addition, the law allow limited representation of Executives in our partner companies in issues relating to:

  • Breach of contract
  • Unfair dismissal / termination
  • Retrenchement
  • Serious Disciplinary Action with a view of dismissal

Membership fee is $9 per month. An annual contribution of $9 to the Singapore Labour Foundation is made in December in addition to the monthly subscription.


Members can choose to pay by Giro or Credit Card.

Membership card FAQs

The NTUC Plus! Card is a Union membership Card. Besides offering the prestige of being recognized as a Union Member, the card also entitles you to a host of privileges including merchant discounts, reward programs, workplace benefits and training that are unique to Union Membership. Such privileges are exclusive to Union Members and are not available to holders of the Plus! Card.

It will take typically 3 to 4 weeks upon submission of full information to the Union. To ensure that you receive your card quickly, ensure that all mandatory domains are accurately filled in. This will help us process your application quickly. The card will either be sent through your branch officials or posted directly to your mailing address.

Linkpoints FAQs

You can:

  • Download the myNTUC mobile app to check LinkPoints on the go!
  • Check your balance at any of our Plus! merchant outlets
  • Login to your account at
  • Call our customer service hotline at 6213 8008 (NTUC Members) or 6223 5225 (Others)

The Linkpoints earned in a calendar year will expire on the 31st December of that year. However, Link cardholders and NTUC cardholders are given grace periods of 6 months (i.e. till 30th June of the following year) and 12 months (i.e. till 31st December of the following year) respectively to redeem their Linkpoints.

NTUC Link may, from time to time, amend the validity period of the Linkpoints. Linkpoints not redeemed by the expiry date will automatically expire.
