Workers today face rapid shifts, from the growing influence of artificial intelligence to new platform work realities.

Throughout the year, NTUC focused on one priority: ensuring that workplace fairness, protection and opportunity kept pace with change.

Here is how NTUC translated advocacy into action—for workers, with workers.

Workplace fairness is now law

Workers now have clearer and stronger protections against workplace discrimination, following the passing of the landmark Workplace Fairness Bill in 2025.

For the first time, workers can pursue discrimination claims of up to $250,000 through a simple three-step process. This provides greater access to justice and clearer recourse.

The law also strengthens safeguards for all workers, including PMEs, reinforcing the principle that every worker deserves fair treatment in the workplace.

This milestone reflects years of Labour Movement advocacy to ensure that fairness is not just encouraged but enshrined in law.

Greater protection for 70,000 platform workers

In 2025, the Platform Workers Act came into effect, introducing better protections for the livelihoods and safety of platform workers.

These measures strengthen fair earnings, transparency around incentive changes, and health and safety safeguards.

For the estimated 70,000 platform workers in Singapore, these changes bring greater stability and clarity in a fast-evolving sector.

Better skills and pay for 10,000 workers

As workplaces evolve, staying employable means having skills that are relevant.

In 2025, the NTUC Company Training Committee (CTC) Grant continued to help workers and companies transform together.

More than 10,000 workers benefited from wage increases, skills allowances, and access to training in AI and other future-ready skills. These initiatives help workers progress in their careers while enabling companies to remain competitive in a changing economy.

By anchoring skills upgrading to real workplace transformation, NTUC ensured that training translated into better jobs and pay.

A stronger collective voice with 1.4 million members

In 2025, NTUC’s membership grew to 1.4 million, strengthening workers’ collective voice in shaping better wages, welfare and work prospects.

With broader representation across sectors and occupations, workers’ concerns carry more weight in tripartite discussions and policy advocacy. Membership also connects workers to a wide range of support, from workplace representation to everyday benefits.

A stronger Labour Movement means better wages, stronger protections and improved benefits for all workers.

$5.5 million raised to support workers and families

Beyond the workplace, NTUC provided crucial support for workers facing financial pressures.

In 2025, NTUC Care programmes raised more than $5.5 million to support workers and their families. Support included help with daily essentials, children’s school expenses, and urgent or unexpected needs.

These programmes provided timely relief and reassurance for workers during difficult periods, reinforcing NTUC’s commitment to stand with workers beyond the workplace.

Looking ahead to 2026

2025 delivered real, meaningful wins for workers—stronger protection, fairer workplaces and deeper support for families.

In 2026, NTUC will continue to protect workers, uplift livelihoods and secure a stronger future.

Because real progress is built for workers, with workers.
