Dr Pei-Sze Chow is Assistant Professor of Digital Culture and New Media at Nanyang Technological University’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information. She is a critical media scholar researching the social, cultural, and political implications of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies on the labour of professionals in the cultural and creative industries. Her work is grounded in ethnographic and participatory methods, working closely with media industry professionals in Singapore to understand how digital transformations are changing creative practices and to advance human-centric and equitable pathways for creative workers. She is a former recipient of the European Commission’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship and is internationally recognised for her work on generative AI and creative labour. She is author and co-editor of several books on cinema culture and her research on AI and creative work has been published in Media, Culture and Society, European Journal of Cultural Studies, and AI & Society.
