Freelancing offers flexibility, independence, and exciting opportunities. However, it also comes with challenges, such as job security, fair pay, and industry recognition. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone—NTUC U FSE is here to support you every step of the way.
A freelancer operates their own business or trade without employing staff. Freelancers typically provide services to clients while negotiating their own terms and conditions.
NTUC’s Freelancers and Self-Employed Unit (U FSE) is dedicated to strengthening freelancers’ Wages, Welfare, and Work Prospects.Through our partnerships with key industry associations—the National Instructors and Coaches Association (NICA) and the Visual, Audio, and Creative Content Professionals Association (VICPA)—we advocate fair pay, provide financial support, and create career opportunities for freelancers in Singapore.
We collaborate with government agencies, industry partners, and corporate clients to improve income security, enhance skills development, promote workplace safety, and champion the collective interests of freelancers.
We also offer guidance on freelancer relevant schemes. More information here.
As Singapore’s largest freelancer community, we stand together to champion sustainable livelihoods and viable careers for gig workers.
