The National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) opened its new Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) Career Centre at Ang Mo Kio (AMK) Hub, marking its 28th physical touchpoint islandwide. Located in the North of Singapore, the new centre provides employment and employability services, as well as career resources for jobseekers in the region. NTUC also launched the AI-Ready SG: Skills Lab, a series of workshops designed to equip workers with AI-relevant skills, catering to different proficiency levels – AI Literate, AI Fluent and AI Proficient1.
These efforts build on NTUC’s AI-Ready SG initiative2 to empower Better Workers, support Better Jobs, and enable Better Matching in an AI-enabled economy. They will be taken forward under the newly-formed Tripartite Jobs Council, which brings together and scales tripartite capabilities to better support workers through the AI transition. The opening of the e2i Career Centre at AMK Hub and the launch of the AI-Ready SG: Skills Lab were graced by Guest-of-Honour, NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng.
NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng said, “As Artificial Intelligence (AI) reshapes how work is done, what matters is not just access to training, but how new skills translate into better jobs and real opportunities for workers. The e2i Career Centres and the AI-Ready SG: Skills Lab help bridge this gap by supporting workers to develop relevant skills to use AI more confidently at work, and even move into new roles. Through the Tripartite Jobs Council, we will work together to support workers and enterprises in navigating the AI transition with confidence.”
New e2i Career Centre at AMK Hub expands access to career and AI-enabled employability support
The new e2i Career Centre at AMK Hub expands jobseekers’ access to career services, making it easier for them to receive support closer to where they live and work. The centre also introduces e2i’s first-ever 24/7 digital lobby – e2i Career Discovery Hub, enabling jobseekers to access career resources, job opportunities, and employability tools anytime, beyond e2i’s operating hours.
Jobseekers can also tap NTUC resources, including the NTUC AI Career Coach (AICC), which offers AI-enabled features such as resume optimisation, interview practice, skills profiling, and job recommendations. Job Bank kiosks which includes e2i-IMDA Tech Elevation & Career Hub (TECH) Portal are also available to support job search and applications. Together, these digital and hybrid capabilities offer more flexible and convenient access to career services.
In addition, the centre strengthens e2i’s ability to deepen partnerships and outreach efforts within the North region, including with nearby Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), grassroots organisations and companies. Its close proximity to ServiceSG also enables stronger cross-agency synergies, allowing residents to conveniently access career guidance and employment support alongside other Government services within the same vicinity. This integrated approach will enable e2i to better connect residents to job opportunities, skills support and employability initiatives within the community.
This blended service delivery model reflects how e2i is evolving its approach to make career support more accessible, targeted and responsive, while supporting NTUC’s AI-Ready SG efforts. By complementing routine services with digital channels, e2i career coaches are better able to focus on deeper, more personalised guidance for workers who require tailored support in navigating career transitions, skills gaps and job search challenges, while enabling jobseekers to access support more conveniently and at their own pace.
“Our new Career Centre at Ang Mo Kio Hub reflects our firm belief that technology should amplify, not replace human capabilities. By combining expanded physical access with enhanced digital resources such as the AI Career Coach and a new 24/7 digital lobby, we are strengthening our ability to support workers where and when they need guidance. This step-by-step evolution of our service delivery is especially timely amid a dynamic global economic landscape and rapid technological adoption, which continues to reshape industries, job roles and skills requirements,” said e2i Chief Executive Officer Caryn Lim.
AI-Ready SG: Skills Lab complements UTAP to drive AI skills learning and application
The new AI-Ready SG: Skills Lab supports the comprehensive AI learning framework developed by NTUC LearningHub (NTUC LHUB)3, offering structured pathways from foundational training to build AI literacy and fluency, to more advanced programmes that enable workers to apply AI in specific job roles and drive AI integration within their organisations. Through practical and hands-on training, workers will gain a better understanding of AI tools and learn how to apply them in their daily work, while progressively deepening their AI competencies.
The inaugural run of the AI-Ready SG: Skills Lab took place on 14 May 2026 at the Devan Nair Institute for Employment and Employability, with close to 100 participants trained at the AI Literate and AI Fluent levels. The workshop introduced participants to key AI concepts and practical tools to enhance productivity and support everyday work tasks.
Building on this momentum, a second run was held today, 20 May 2026, at NTUC’s e2i Ang Mo Kio Hub Career Centre. The session catered to 15 participants at the AI Proficient level, focusing on the application of Generative AI strategies and tools for creative and marketing functions, such as automating workflows, integrating AI into business processes, and supporting decision-making.
NTUC will progressively expand the AI-Ready SG: Skills Lab series to reach a wider and more diverse base of workers, including Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs). This includes working with community partners, sector agencies and industry leads to identify relevant sector-specific training needs, and roll out AI courses that help workers apply AI in their jobs. For a start, NTUC is partnering the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) to co-design a sector-specific AI training roadmap for union leaders within aviation. As part of this roadmap, more than 200 union leaders will undergo AI training, workshops and learning journeys that are specifically curated for the sector and their job roles.
Through the AI-Ready SG: Skills Lab, NTUC will continue to expand its outreach and training efforts to support workers across different sectors and career stages. The AI-Ready SG: Skills Lab is part of NTUC’s continued commitment to empower workers with future-ready skills, while working alongside the Government, employers and partners to support job redesign and AI transformation to ensure workers remain adaptable and resilient in a rapidly changing economy.
NTUC members who have completed UTAP‑approved AI training courses may receive up to 50 per cent funding support for selected AI tool subscriptions4 under UTAP. This helps to lower cost barriers to accessing technology, enabling workers to apply their AI skills in their daily work and lives, and strengthening their employability.

Participants are AI Fluent if they (i) have already used AI tools in their work; (ii) want to generate higher insights, content, or automate simple tasks; and (iii) collaborate with others to apply AI in workflows.
