What is the NTUC Care (Hardship Grant)?

The NTUC Care (Hardship Grant) is part of the NTUC Care Assistance Programme. It supports lower-income union members by providing a one-time grant from NTUC-U Care Fund if they experience hardship due to one of the following non-industrial circumstances:

  1. Death

  1. Total/Partial and permanent incapacity

  1. Serious chronic medical condition*

  1. Registered fire or flood victim

 

* Pre-existing serious chronic medical conditions diagnosed before the applicant became a Union Member will not be considered.

Who is eligible?

NTUC union members must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the grant

  1. For applicants with family members staying in the same household in Singapore: 
  2. For applicants without family members staying in the same household in Singapore:
  3. Minimum of 6 months of continuous paid-up union membership at the point of application.
  4. The union member must not have received the grant from this programme before.
