NTUC membership is open to anyone above 16 years of age, except personnel from Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prisons, Auxiliary Police bodies, foreign domestic workers and full-time students.

Annual membership fee is $117 or $9 per month from January to November and $18 in December.

• Online GIRO is currently applicable to DBS, POSB & OCBC banks only.

• Login to your internet banking to setup the GIRO instruction.

• Select 'NTUC-Membership' for the Billing Organization.

• Indicate your NRIC or FIN number for the Bill Reference number.

• For GB and U-Club members, the membership fee will be deducted on the 26th of every month, except weekends or public holidays which will be deducted on the next working day.

• For OB members, it will be based on respective union deduction period. You may contact your union to find out more.

• You may choose either to make payment for the arrears or upfront $117. To apply for recurring* payment using your debit/credit card, please tick the "Apply for Debit/Credit Card Recurring Payment" box before making the payment.

*Your recurring membership fees will be deducted from your debit or credit card after the last paid month. Deduction will take place on the 6th of every month.

UTAP Eligibility

  • Paid-up union membership fee before course commencement, throughout whole course duration and at the point of claim.
  • Course by training provider must be supported under UTAP. Supported courses can be found here.
  • Training must commence within the supported period.
  • Course must not be funded through company sponsorship or other types of funding.
  • Unfunded course fee must be S$20.00 and above.
  • You must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance for each application and sat for all prescribed examination(s), if any.
  • UTAP application must be submitted online within 6 months from the course end/exam date.

The U Care Back-To- School (BTS) Vouchers Programme is one of NTUC U Care Fund’s core assistance programmes which aims to help eligible union members defray the cost of their children’s school expenses for the new school year.

Each successful applicant will receive a booklet of U Care Back-To-School Vouchers1 for each eligible school-going child (limit of one booklet per eligible child).

The U Care Back-To- School Vouchers are valid till 30 April 2019. No extension will be granted after the voucher expiry date.

1 The value of U Stretch and Back-To-School vouchers are determined based on final donations received. Successful applicants will know the vouchers’ values at the point of voucher collection.

 

《U关怀开学了》援助券是职总U关怀基金旗下的主要援助计划之一,旨在帮助符合条件的工会会员支付儿童新学年的学校开支。

每位成功申请者将会获得一本《U关怀开学了》援助券4 给每名合格就学子女(只限一名一本)。

《U关怀开学了》援助券的有效期至2019年4月30日, 到期日后不再延期。

4《U惠》与《U关怀开学了》援助券的价值取决于赞助人的总捐款。成功申请者会接获通知关于援助券的实际价值。

Member must have a minimum 6 months continuous paid-up union membership at the point of application and must not be in arrears.

Total Monthly Gross Household Income2 of $3400 and below, OR

Per Capita Income of $850 and below if Gross Household Income exceeds $3400.

Member's child/children must be attending school in 2019 at an eligible educational institution in Singapore as follows:

  1. Kindergarten 1 or 2;
  2. Government / Government-Aided / Independent Schools (Primary or Secondary) under the Ministry of Education (MOE);
  3. Junior Colleges; Institute of Technical Education; Millennia Institute; Polytechnics;OR
  4. Special Education Schools (click here for the eligible list)

2 Gross income is defined as all income derived from employment/business, inclusive of overtime and allowances.

Applicants will need to submit the following:

If Member is Unemployed:

- Photocopy of Spouse's payslip or CPF Statement (showing contribution history for the past 3 months) if Member is Married.

 

Photocopy of Child/Children' Birth Certificate(s)3

For foreign birth certificate(s), please also submit Certificate of Singapore Citizenship / Re-entry Permit AND Student Pass.

3 If member has previously submitted photocopy of his/her child/children's birth certificates for Back to School Voucher Programme in 2012 or later, he/she need not submit the birth certificates again.

The U Stretch Vouchers Programme is one of NTUC-U Care Fund’s core assistance programmes which provides relief to help eligible union members by helping to stretch their dollar on daily necessities.

Each successful applicant will receive one booklet of U Stretch vouchers7.

Each U Stretch Voucher provides a $2.50 discount off every $5 purchase at the participating NTUC Social Enterprises. The three participating NTUC Social Enterprises are NTUC FairPrice, NTUC Foodfare and NTUC Health.

The U Stretch Vouchers are valid till 30 April 2019. No extension will be granted after the voucher expiry date.

  • Supported and co-funded by the NTUC-U Care Fund, the Education Awards aims to provide assistance and encouragement to school-going children of General Branch (GB) members as well as reward children who excel in their studies.
  • Your child will be awarded based on the following categories:

Education Grant

1.     Each successful candidate: $100

2.     Each successful candidate (Special Education): $200

Scholarship

1.     Primary (4-6): $100

2.     Secondary: $200

3.     Junior College, Pre-U & ITE: $300

4.     Polytechnic: $800

5.     University: $1,000

Main Criteria

Member:

  • You must be an NTUC General Branch, U Club or National Taxi Association (NTA) Union member with a minimum of 6 months continuous paid-up union membership at the point of application and is not in arrears.
  • For Ordinary Branch members, you may approach your respective union for the availability of scholarship/education grant programme.

Child/Children:

  • Must be studying* in Singapore, either in Government/Government-Aided/Independent Schools, Junior Colleges, Institute of Technical Education, Millennia Institute, Polytechnics or MOE-registered Special Education Schools in 2015 and 2016.

(*excludes bridging courses tie-up between foreign and local educational institutions)

  • Must not receive or apply for Scholarship or Bursary awards from any other organizations including the Government Education Scheme.
  • Must be attending school in year 2016. Graduating students (e.g. final year Junior College students going to NS in year 2016) who will not be attending schools will not be eligible for the Education Awards.
  • Each child can only apply for either Education Grant or Scholarship.

Additional Criteria for Education Grant

  • Total monthly gross household income* must be less than $3,000 or monthly per capita income of less than $750 (*all income derived from employment/business, inclusive of overtime and allowances).
  • Your child/children must achieve a passing grade for the overall aggregate and not a retained student in 2016.
  • Only maximum of 2 children per family can apply.

Additional Criteria for Scholarship

  • For school-going child/children in all education levels except primary 1-3 in 2016.
  • Application form will be made available once the event is open for sign up.

  • The Family Fun Fiesta (FFF), formerly known as Family Recreation & Fun (FRF) Carnivals is organized and sponsored by NTUC Club in support of the Labour Movement’s U Care initiative.
  • Held several times a year, FFF aims to strengthen family bonding and promote a greater work-life balance and better well-being by enabling lower income union members to enjoy a day of fun with their families at Downtown East at no cost.
  • Each successful applicant will receive a recreation package which comprises of admission tickets to Wild Wild Wet, bowling game coupons, F & B vouchers, 1 hour free play at eXplorerkid (for children aged 12 and below) and wristbands for unlimited play of games and activities.
  • Admission tickets to Downtown East facilities, F & B vouchers and wristbands are issued according to the number of family members.
  • Total Monthly Gross Household Income of $4,000 and below OR Per Capita Income of $1000 and below if gross household income exceeds $4,000. Gross income is defined as all income derived from employment/business inclusive of overtime and allowances.
  • Member must not be in arrears of membership dues.
  • Family members refers to applicant's immediate family members and they must be staying in the same household as the applicant in Singapore.

The U Care Hardship Grant is a once-off assistance to low-income union members in the event that the members suffer hardship arising from one of the following circumstances which is of a non-industrial nature:

  • Death

  • Total and permanent incapacity

  • Serious chronic medical condition

(​Pre-existing serious chronic medical condition diagnosed before the applicant became a Union Member will not be considered)

  • Registered fire or flood victim

Union member must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible for the grant:

  • Total Monthly Gross Household Income of $1,800 and below OR Per Capita Income of $500 and below if gross household income exceeds $1,800.
  • Minimum of 6 months continuous paid-up union membership at the point of application.
  • For Ordinary Branch members, you may apply through your union.
  • For General Branch members, you may apply through the following methods:

  2. Contact NTUC Membership hotline at 6213 8008.
  • NTUC Gift is a group insurance policy exclusively for members of NTUC affiliated unions/association.
  • All union members who are 65 years old and below are automatically covered against death and total & permanent disability (TPD) of up to $40,000.
  • Union leaders are eligible for double the sum assured.
  • Union members' spouses below 65 years old are also covered against death and TPD.
  • Eligible members aged 65 years old and above can opt for extension of coverage with payment of a token fee.
  • The token fee has been waived until 2017.

NTUC GIFT eligibility:
  • Members between 16 and 65 years of age (includes spouse below the age of 65, i.e. before 65th birthday).
  • At least 6 months of continuous paid-up union/association membership.
  • In the event of a claim, the member/next-of-kin needs to submit the duly completed claim form together with all necessary supporting documents to their union/association for endorsement.
  • The claim must be submitted within 90 days of incident.
  • For Ordinary Branch member, please submit the claim form to the union/association that you belong to.
  • For General Branch or U Club member, please submit the claim form to NTUC Member's Hub at NTUC Centre, 1 Marina Boulevard, #B1-01, Singapore 018989.
