ABOUT U NETWORK
In tandem with the evolving demographics of our workforce and to cater to its increasingly diverse and sophisticated needs, the Labour Movement is building on its efforts to be progressive, inclusive and caring by growing its network. Beyond our affiliated trade unions and associations, we have also welcomed U Associates (professional guilds and associations), U SME partners (SME bosses and HR personnel) and U FSE partners (freelancers and self-employed) into our fold.
Through U Network – which comprises our affiliated unions and associations, U PME, U Associates, U SME partners and U FSE partners – the Labour Movement is able to expand our suite of services beyond traditional services such as protection and representation for our rank and file workers, to also include professional development, training, placement and networking for both today’s and tomorrow’s workers.
By leveraging the strength of U Network, our members, associates and partners will be able to interact with fellow associates and unions, cross-pollinate ideas, learn from thought leadership, share best practices and more, so as to be future-proof and future-ready.

NTUC-AFFILIATED UNIONS AND ASSOCIATIONS
Traditionally, unions represent workers in collective bargaining as well as in other areas such as wrongful dismissals, retrenchment benefits and employment terms and practices. With the amendments to the Industrial Relations Act, which came into effect from 1 April 2015, unions have been able to widen and deepen their reach to also represent executive workers on a collective basis. Beyond workplace representation and protection, our unions and associations also play a key role in encouraging our working people to go for skills training, upgrading and upskilling, so as to be relevant in today’s labour market.
