In celebration of Singapore's 46th birthday, over 300 babies, toddlers and their families took part in an extraordinary birthday bash “Baby’s Day Out 2011” organised by U Family, a unit under the National Trades Union Congress, which advocates the building of strong and happy families by championing work-life integration for working families. Babies as young as 6 months old and children as old as 12 years old not only had the opportunity to enjoy a spectacular music extravaganza of popular children and national day songs presented by The Joyful Sound Orchestra, they were also treated to puppet shows and “live” music performance. At the event, Guest of Honour, Mr Zainudin Nordin, MP for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC, launched the first-ever iPhone Application in Singapore, to help parents locate family-friendly facilities near them.
