o If you are hiring a foreign domestic worker (FDW) for the first time, you can approach an employment agent to work out an employment contract for you and your FDW.
o Ensure that the terms of the employment contract are fair to both the employer and the FDW.
o The employment agent (or employer) should also ensure that the terms of the employment contract are clearly communicated to the FDW in a way that she can understand fully, either in simple English or in the native language of the FDW (as far as possible).
o It is encouraged that a list of duties, salary schedule and a rest day schedule are also included as annexes to the employment contract. Both the employer and FDW must also mutually agree to the mode of salary payment, either through electronic transfers or in cash.
o A copy of the employment contract with the annexes are to be given to the FDW for safekeeping upon the day she commences work at the stated address in her work permit.
